GDI Error: Generating Reports

The Error: 

While generating a report the system may process your query then present a GDI error.  

The Cause:

The Windows default printer driver either does not match the printer connected to the system or the Windows default printer driver is not capable of printing the "report preview" to the display screen and therefore errors out.

The Cure:

Re-select the Windows default printer driver to match the printer connected to the system 
or re-select a Windows default printer driver capable of printing the "report preview" to the display screen.

The Windows 98 Manual States:

"Determining the Default Printer

Your print jobs are always sent to the default printer unless you specify otherwise. In the Printers dialog box, the default printer has a check mark beside its icon. 
You can change your default printer at any time.

  • To set a default printer

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers.

  2. Right-click the icon of the printer you want to set as the default. 
    A shortcut menu appears.

  3. Select Set as Default."
