DAO error: During Install
There is a 3rd party installation program out there corrupting the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\DAO
by adding either "\DAO350.DLL" or \DAO35.CNT" to the end of the data
value.
If you are comfortable editing your registry, following these steps will correct the problem. Otherwise contact us to request a new installation CD:
- From the Start/Run menu, run REGEDIT
- Open up the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\DAO
- Take a look at the the value (Data) for the Path parameter. It should be:
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO"
- Right-click on "Path" and choose "Modify"
- Change the value data to read: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO
(you can just erase the extra stuff at the end).
- Click the OK button.
- Re-run the install - it should work fine now.
