VesperOptions
Optional Enhancements to VesperExits:
VesperOptions are user exit modules that we offer in addition to or instead of the basic functionality included in VesperExits. These can be combined in a variety of ways – contact us for more information.
- 14 Digit PLUs

This module allows users to scan or key in 14 digit PLUs (required for GTIN compliance by 1/1/2005). Scanning currently supports UPC-A+2 and EAN-14 labels. We will be including support for RSS-14 by July 1, 2004 for scanners that support RSS-14 (such as the NCR 7875®).

Customers running the WinEPS user exit from MTXEPS wanted more functionality so we were granted permission by
MTXEPSto incorporate other features into WinEPS. We can add custom features, functions from
VesperExits, 14 Digit PLUs, etc. Vesper Software’s DUKPT module is not required with enhanced WinEPSsince WinEPSis already DUKPT-compliant.

DUKPT is an industry initiative that makes the encryption of PINs from debit cards extremely secure. Standard NCR 2127® programming was not designed to support the transmission of DUKPT PINs from the PIN pad to the card processor, therefore grocers requested this module to overcome that shortcoming. Contact us for further information regarding which PIN pads are supported and the go-live dates for various card processors.

Retail Price (Stand-alone or added to VesperExits price): $2,195
These modules consist of three components – the user exit functionality, hardware (same as required for VesperLink) and PC software. These modules will send the information captured on either the journal or receipt to the PC for capture in a database. This information can be viewed in real-time as it is captured. The data is also searchable by many criteria.

We can also create custom user exits and provide these as stand-alone user exits or combine them with our other modules. Examples are CashPlus which adds a flat percentage to the total sale and MLink which allows additional PLU links to be used (e.g., PLU A -> PLU B -> PLU C).
